In the beginning...

There was a mountain of debt. John and I had not a care in the world. If we wanted it, we bought it. Not enough money in the checking account, we charged it.

We have since learned our lesson.

Just before Christmas, I became enlightened. With our daughter now one and the same old debt hanging around, we needed a change. This was the same debt that was here before she was a twinkle in our eye! I learned about a man named Dave Ramsey. He was going to change our lives.

I learned all about a debt snowball and "living like no one else so we could live like no one else". I set a goal with John that in a year and a half we would have a new fantastic home. All with a 15 year mortgage and 20% down. We would do it.

Fast forward to now: Current home is on the market. We've had a fair amount of showings and a couple second showings. Our debt snowball has eliminated everything except John's truck, and one credit card. I'm pumped.
Biggest changes since we started becoming debt free: my house is so much cleaner, my lifestyle is so much greener, and John and I are happier. We have a common goal and are working towards it. It feels great. We laugh at other people we used to be envious of. I've become a much better cook also.
